About the club
Driffield Rifle Club is a friendly shooting club in the heart of the East Yorkshire town of Driffield, with facilities for .22 small-bore, air rifle, and air pistol shooting. The club has a very active Rifle Section and uses .22 small-bore rifles. Although the majority of our members use their own rifles, the Club owns a range of rifles and pistols suitable for both right- and left-handed shooters.
The club has six shooting lanes, with distances of 25 yards, 20 yards, and 10 metres. The 10 metre lanes have electronic card changers. We also have seating in our clubroom, where members can socialise and have a cup of tea.
The club was founded in 1961, and is a Home Office Approved shooting range. The club is governed by an elected committee, who are chosen at each Annual General Meeting (AGM), to which all members are invited. The range is certified by, insured by, and affiliated with, the National Small-bore Rifle Association (NSRA).
Disciplines & Competitions
We cater to a wide range of disciplines, and most of our members regularly enter county, or national competitions.
The most common disciplines at the club are, in no particular order:
- Benchrest, both air rifle and 22LR
- Prone
- Lightweight Sporting Rifle (Standing, using an Air Rifle or 22LR)
- 10m Air pistol or Air rifle
Membership
New Members
Should you wish to try .22 Rimfire shooting or Air rifle/pistol shooting, it is important to note that you will not be permitted to shoot unless you give the Membership Secretary a clear 48 hours notice. You will need verbal confirmation or email confirmation prior to shooting on your initial visit. This procedure is necessary to ensure our club complies with police requirements.
You are entitled to a maximum of three visits before making a commitment to join the club. At the time of your fourth visit, the law requires you to complete a Membership Application form and to pay the required subscription.
Please email us to arrange your first visit on info@driffieldrifleclub.co.uk, or call our Membership Secretary, Judy, on 07979 734603.
